  • No images of Mentuhotep IV are known to us from reliefs or statues
  • He made an expedition to quarries of Wadi el-Hudi headed by his Vizier Amenemhet. This expedition, counting more than 10 000 men was to retrieve stone suitable for his royal sarcophagus.
  • Probably Amenemhet I overthrew his master and proclaimed himself Pharaoh, founding the 12th Dynasty
